Best Western Lakewinds

I have been staying here for more than 20 years. I am very happy to see it is still American owned. Please stay that way! They recently renovated with all new carpeting, paint, and real tile in the bathrooms! The pool and hot tub appeared to be new as well. At least new liners and lighting. It looks really sharp and more modern now. They even added solar panels to the roof! Housekeeping left us a kind note when they came to tidy our room. They are one of the few pet friendly hotels in the area and offer a special area for your pets. Playground for kids, hot breakfast, you can't ask for much more. I highly recommend this hotel if you'd like to stay closer to highway access than downtown.

Rooms were clean and well cared for. The front desk and cleaning staff were helpful and very nice. The fact that the pool/hot tub had an adults only swim from 10-11pm was fantastic.

Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was great. My biggest complaint was the pillows in the room were AWFUL! I have never experienced such low quality pillows. They must get new pillows for every guest because I could not fluff them up for the life of me. I would definitely stay here again but I’m bringing my own pillows

I've been staying in Ludington for 44 years. This is the best hotel I have stayed at in terms of amenities and service for the price paid. Free breakfast, friendly staff, and very clean rooms. My elderly parents appreciated the elevator and I appreciated the fitness room and spa to escape them every so often :)

Rooms were clean neat and organized . Loved they were dog friendly out 2 goldens were on their first beach vacation

Once everything started opening up during COVID, we decided to take short trips up to Ludington (8hrs from home). I am in healthcare and definitely need a break every now and again. We go up at least twice a year. We tried a couple other hotels before staying at this BW. This is now the only place we stay. We have never had any issues. They are very accommodating as we prefer a ground floor room near the front (hubby is disabled and long walks are difficult). Staff is wonderful and kind. Rooms have always been clean (I always take a small travel pillow and the housekeeper incorporates it into the bed making-it’s the small things for me). I’ve seen complaints about the breakfast- it’s free, it includes everything you need to get your day started. I’ve been to high dollar hotels and not even get a smile, let alone a breakfast. This is a pet friendly hotel, although I have never noticed a pet smell, it could be possible and I know this ahead of booking. Dear owner- please don’t change anything, recognize the great job your team is doing. Thank you for always making us feel welcome. -The Westerfields

Just got back from a snowy weekend in Ludington for a hockey tournament. The facility was great for the price, but what stuck out was the staff. We were there with a bunch of teenage boys, and the staff was incredibly patient, welcoming and exceeded all expectations for our families. I could not have been happier with our stay and I would 100% STAY HERE AGAIN. 10/10.

During our trip we stayed in 4 Best Western's and this one had recently been updated. The rooms were nice and clean but the door has a 2 inch gap, you could hear everything in the hallway and see quite a bit of light. We were thankful we brought a loud fan. For the price, I'd expect the elevator to work or at least be warned it was out of service prior to arrival. Staff wasn't completely rude but they weren't very friendly either. I think they maybe spoke a sentence to us at check-in. Breakfast was picked over quickly but still okay. Overall, it wasn't a horrible experience but it wasn't the best.
